The Mishimoto MMBCC-JLH-18CBE baffled oil catch can kit is engineered specifically for the direct-injected, turbocharged 2.0L Hurricane engine found in the 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler JL. Unlike a universal setup, this kit uses direct-fit hoses with pre-installed fittings and a 3mm thick steel mounting bracket so it installs around the factory CCV pressure sensor for CEL-free running. At its center is a 7.5 oz twist-off can machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum with an anodized finish, built to intercept blow-by before it reaches the intake valves.

Direct injection has made modern car engines more efficient, but it has also removed a side benefit of older fuel systems: fuel spraying over the intake valves to wash them clean. On engines like the Hurricane, blow-by gases are normally routed back into the intake, and without that washing effect the oil, fuel, and water vapor in the blow-by bake onto the back of the intake valves as carbon. Buildup on this critical component of an automobile engine disrupts airflow into the cylinders, upsetting automobile combustion and leading to poor running and misfires. This Mishimoto catch can uses internal air diverters and an interior baffle to condense oil, fuel, and water vapor out of the blow-by stream before it reaches the intake, so only clean air continues on. Because the can, its high-flow filter, and its CNC-machined aluminum barbed fittings are all serviceable, maintaining this part of your car engine parts lineup is as simple as draining the can at your regular oil change.
