The Mishimoto Race Axleback Performance Exhaust (MMEXH-CAM4-16AQTRP) replaces GM’s factory suitcase-style muffler system with a full 304 stainless steel, mandrel-bent setup built to convert the Camaro’s stock dual-tip exhaust into an aggressive quad-tip layout. Every pipe is TIG-welded and capped with a set of polished 4-inch double-wall tips, giving the rear of the Camaro the turbocharged, sporty soundtrack the factory muffler was designed to quiet down.
This Mishimoto axleback exhaust is engineered to produce an extremely aggressive racing exhaust tone under both acceleration and deceleration, complemented by a louder turbo spool while boosting. A rear muffler delete design maximizes exhaust tone for the track, and because the system routes through 3-inch main piping built from 304 stainless steel with flat-band clamps and hangers included, it’s built to handle spirited driving while cutting 8 lbs compared to the factory exhaust. Mishimoto states the kit installs in under an hour, though cutting of the stock exhaust pipes is required, and a cutting template with instruction card is included to help measure, mark, and cut correctly. Note that this exhaust also requires the GM quad-tip rear bumper valence (GM part # 23404791), sold separately, to accommodate the additional exhaust tips.
