AEM-21-679DS Cold Air Intake System
The AEM 21-679DS Performance Cold Air Intake System replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Mitsubishi Lancer models. The air intake system comes with a black rubber topped AEM high-flow air filter that installs near the driver-side wheel well. Air is directed through a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube and then through a custom tuned, high-density polyethylene intake tube that connects to the engine’s throttle body.
This lower restriction intake is designed to increase horsepower and acceleration. The AEM Dryflow air filter is made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed (depending on driving conditions). The intake tube accommodates factory emissions control devices including a vent hose and the mass air sensor.
Some AEM air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the AEM catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.
