Speedometer & Gearing Note
One of the most valuable features of this programmer is speedometer recalibration. When you physically change ring and pinion gears in late-model GM trucks, the factory cruise control will be disabled. This programmer allows you to recalibrate the speedometer to match that gear change so your speed reading stays accurate. It’s important to understand, however, that recalibrating the speedometer will not re-activate the disabled cruise control system. GM builds that feature into the engine calibration files, and restoring cruise after a gear swap would require full ECM tuning to enable it again.
