The Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back Exhaust System is engineered for the driver who wants a deep, aggressive exterior sound paired with a moderate interior tone — all while delivering the performance benefits Flowmaster is known for. Designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade for 2000-2006 Toyota Tundra trucks equipped with the 4.7L engine, this complete cat-back system transforms both the sound and the flow characteristics of your truck without requiring extensive modification.
At the heart of the system is a Super 50 Series performance muffler, tuned to produce a deep, powerful exterior note while keeping interior drone to a minimum. Flowing into the muffler is a specially designed chambered front resonator that helps shape the exhaust tone for that signature American Thunder character. The result is an aggressive presence outside the cab and a comfortable, moderate sound inside.
Construction & Design
This American Thunder system is built from 16-gauge mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing with a 3.00-inch inlet diameter, ensuring smooth, unrestricted flow throughout. The dual 2.50-inch stainless steel tailpipes are designed to use the factory hanger locations, making installation straightforward and repeatable. The system is finished with a pair of large 3.00-inch polished stainless steel tips for a clean, muscular look that complements the deep exhaust note.
Configuration Options
As a DOR/DOS setup (Dual Out Rear or Dual Out Side), the system gives you two tailpipe exit choices. Route the tips behind the rear wheels — an ideal configuration for towing — or exit straight out the back under the rear bumper for a bold, aggressive appearance. Choose the arrangement that best fits how you drive and how you want your Tundra to look.
Emissions & Compliance
This is an emissions-legal exhaust system and is CARB (California) compliant, carrying emission code 5. Please note the California Proposition 65 warning applies. The system is designed for 2WD applications.
