The Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back Exhaust System is a complete performance exhaust upgrade engineered for owners who want more power, better fuel economy, and a purposeful tone without an overpowering drone. Built around Flowmaster’s proven American Thunder platform, this system replaces the restrictive factory piping from the catalytic converter back, freeing up your Hemi to breathe the way it was meant to.
At the heart of the system is a Super 50 Series muffler (part number 9530572), part of the 50 Series HD family, delivering a moderate sound level both inside and outside the cab. That means you get a deeper, more authoritative exhaust note under acceleration while keeping highway cruising comfortable and free of excessive resonance.
Construction & Performance
The entire system is fabricated from 16-gauge mandrel-bent aluminized steel tubing with a silver finish, engineered for smooth, unrestricted flow. A 3.00-inch inlet feeds into the muffler, which flows into dual 2.50-inch mandrel-bent tailpipes. The mandrel bends preserve full pipe diameter throughout every bend, maximizing exhaust flow for improved performance and fuel economy. The system is finished with a pair of polished 3.00-inch 304 stainless steel tips that add a bright, durable visual upgrade.
Two Exit Styles, One System
This American Thunder system ships with two sets of tailpipe exits, giving you a choice of configurations. Route the exhaust straight out the back under the bumper for a clean, traditional look, or exit out to the sides behind the rear wheels — an ideal setup for towing applications where a rear exit isn’t practical. Pick the exit style that best suits how you drive and work your truck.
Bolt-On Installation
The dual tailpipes are designed to use the factory hanger locations, making this a true bolt-on upgrade. Easy-to-follow instructions and all necessary hardware are included, so installation is straightforward whether you’re in a shop or working in your own driveway. No heat shield is included with this system.
Fitment
This cat-back system fits 2003-2012 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 equipped with the 5.7L Hemi engine, and also fits 2005-2008 Dodge Ram 1500 MegaCab with the 5.7L engine. It is CARB (California) compliant, making it a legal upgrade in all 50 states.
