The Flowmaster American Thunder® Cat-back Exhaust System is engineered for owners of the 2006-2008 Dodge Ram 1500 equipped with the 5.7L Hemi who want a deep, aggressive exterior sound backed by all of the performance benefits Flowmaster is known for. This complete cat-back kit replaces the restrictive factory piping from the catalytic converter back, opening up airflow while delivering the unmistakable American Thunder tone. It is a bolt-on DOR/DOS (Dual Out Rear or Dual Out Side) system that arrives emissions-legal and CARB (California) compliant, making it a smart upgrade for street-driven trucks.
Sound & Performance
At the heart of the system is a specially designed Super 50™ Series performance muffler that produces an aggressive exterior note paired with a moderate interior tone — loud and muscular outside, comfortable and livable inside the cab. The 16-gauge mandrel-bent stainless steel tubing feeds the muffler with a smooth 3.00-inch inlet, then splits into dual 2.50-inch stainless steel tailpipes for a balanced, free-flowing exhaust path.
Configuration & Exit Options
The dual tailpipes can be routed to exit either behind the rear wheels — ideal for towing — or straight out the back under the rear bumper for a more aggressive, muscular look. Either way, the system finishes with a pair of large 3.00-inch polished stainless steel tips that give the Ram a purposeful stance. Choose the exit configuration that best matches how you use your truck.

This American Thunder cat-back is designed for 2006-2008 Dodge Ram 1500 trucks with the 5.7L Hemi engine and fits both 2- and 4-wheel drive models across all wheelbases, with the exception of the MegaCab. The tailpipes use the factory hanger locations for a straightforward, at-home installation with all necessary parts and hardware included.
