The Mishimoto 2019+ Mazda Miata ND2 Oil Cooler Kit (MMOC-MIA-19TBK) is a direct-fit, Black Cooler Thermostatic upgrade purpose-built to replace the ND2’s factory liquid-to-liquid oil cooler with a dedicated 19-row stacked-plate oil cooler. Engineered for Miatas that see track duty, it swaps in a true oil cooler design so temperatures stay in check even when the factory coolant-based warmer starts to fall behind during sustained hard driving. Mishimoto engineers recorded consistent temperature decreases of up to 57°F (29.5°C) using the non-thermostatic version of this sandwich plate design.

When Mazda transitioned the Miata from ND1 to ND2, it added a bump in top-end power along with a liquid-to-liquid oil cooler that uses engine coolant to warm oil during cold starts and cool it during aggressive driving-useful in daily traffic, but a component Mishimoto found sacrifices cooling performance once the engine is pushed hard for extended periods.
