The Mishimoto Performance Aluminum Fan Shroud (MMFS-XJ-89K) is a direct-fit replacement for the outdated engine-driven fan on the 1989-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0L. In place of the heavy mechanical fan, this lightweight aluminum shroud houses three Mishimoto high-flow 10-inch electric slim fans, each moving a constant 950 CFM no matter what the engine is doing. One fan takes over stock A/C fan duty while the other two are dedicated to cooling the radiator, giving your XJ’s cooling system a serious upgrade for trail duty or daily driving.
Because the stock fan is powered off the engine, its airflow drops off whenever engine speed drops, exactly when you’re crawling rocks or climbing muddy hills at low RPM.
