The Mishimoto MMBCC-BRZ-22 baffled oil catch can kit is purpose-built for the FA24-powered 2022+ Subaru BRZ and Toyota GR86, giving these twin-injected car engines a dedicated line of defense against blow-by vapor before it ever reaches the intake tract. At the center of the kit is Mishimoto’s 2-port compact baffled catch can, machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and finished in anodized black, built specifically to separate oil, fuel, and water out of the crankcase gases moving through this engine.
The FA24 in the BRZ and GR86 uses a combination of direct and port injection, which helps power delivery throughout the RPM range and generally keeps carbon buildup less severe than on many direct-injected car engines. Even so, blow-by vapor can condense on sensors and skew readings, or work its way into the cylinders where it raises the chance of knock and costs power. This catch can kit routes that vapor through a bronze filter, internal air turbulators, and an internal baffle, condensing it and holding it in the can until it’s drained at your next oil change instead of letting it recirculate through the intake manifold and other parts of a car engine. Two CNC-machined aluminum fittings, each sealed with an O-ring, connect molded direct-fit hoses between the can, the engine, and the intake manifold for a clean, leak-free installation, while an application-specific mounting bracket keeps the can positioned away from engine vibration. The can itself is a twist-off design with a fully serviceable interior, so maintaining these engine parts is as simple as opening the can and draining it through the 3/8-NPT plug.
