Description
The Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Kit (MMINT-STNGR-18SL) is a purpose-built forced induction upgrade engineered specifically for the Kia Stinger GT’s Lambda II GDI 3.3T engine, replacing the factory tube-and-fin core and plastic end tanks with a TIG-welded bar-and-plate core and cast aluminum end tanks. On the dyno, this kit dropped intercooler outlet temperatures by 29°F on a stock tune and 41°F on a Stage 1 tune, while adding measurable power at the wheels.
Mishimoto designed this forced induction system upgrade to address the single biggest bottleneck in the Stinger’s stock intercooling path: the OEM core and undersized piping. The redesigned core delivers a 94-percent increase in core volume and a 74-percent increase in external fin surface area compared to the factory unit, while the aluminum piping opens up to a 3-inch inner diameter to keep pressure drop to a minimum. Mishimoto also re-engineered the piping merger manifold, growing the inlets to 2 inches and the outlet to 3 inches for a 51-percent increase in flow straight out of the turbos, all while remaining compatible with the factory recirculation valves. On stock tuning, the kit measured a 29°F reduction in outlet temperature alongside gains of 8 whp and 8 wtq; layered on top of a Stage 1 map tune, outlet temperatures dropped 41°F with an additional 6 whp and 8 wtq. Every piece of this performance induction kit — from the cast aluminum end tanks to the 5-layer silicone couplers — is finished in a micro-wrinkle black powder coat, keeping the engine bay looking OEM+ while the forced induction system underneath does the real work.
Vehicle Applications
This kit is a specific fit for the 2018-2023 Kia Stinger GT, including the GT Limited (2018-2023), GT1 (2018-2022), GT2 (2018-2023), GT Elite (2022-2023), GTS (2019), and Tribute Edition (2023) trims. It also fits the 2019-2025 Genesis G70 3.3T, which shares the Lambda II GDI turbocharged platform (chassis code CK) with the Stinger.
