Overview
The AWE Tuning 07-10 Porsche 911 (Coupe – 3.6 – AWD/RWD) Intercooler Kit is a complete, engineered upgrade born from AWE’s development of high horsepower turbo kits for the 997TT. During that work, AWE experienced excessively high intake air temperatures and discovered that the stock intercoolers matched the same specs as the 996TT X50/GT2 design — suitable to roughly 600hp, but not much beyond. With power goals well north of 700hp and no OEM option available, AWE built a completely new car intercooler system from the ground up.
So, what does an intercooler do? On a turbo intercooler application like this, the intercooler cools the compressed, heated charge air before it enters the engine, restoring density and helping the motor make consistent, reliable power.
