The defining difference between this and the Touring Edition is the removal of AWE’s sound-cancelling 180 Technology rear-mufflers. The result: a louder, more aggressive voice. Warning — this thing gets rowdy. Expect a noticeably louder tone in the mid range, and S-Tronic owners should be aware that the system is especially loud at part throttle. Because the rear mufflers are removed, this exhaust system cannot be returned due to sound, so buy it knowing you want the volume.

Downpipes & Sound Options

The Resonated Downpipes use resonators larger than the stock units to produce a more mellow sound volume, while the Non-Resonated Downpipes are for owners seeking the loudest AWE has to offer in the S4/S5 lineup. Both feature larger-than-stock tubing diameter. Note: in limited cases, factory downpipes have been known to emit minor rattling noises when paired with the AWE exhaust system, and pairing with AWE downpipes helps address this.
