AEM-22-489B Short Ram Intake System
The AEM 22-489B Performance Short Ram Air Intake System has been engineered to be an affordable and easy way to boost the horsepower and torque of your engine. The restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing are replaced with this intake system, allowing air to enterthe system through an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance.
The air filter is protected by a heat shield which is designed to protect the filter from hot engine air in order to preserve horsepower gains. The sound your engine makes when accelerating is also modified to a fuller, more aggressive resonance allowing you to hear and feel the horsepower upgrade. The intake tubing is constructed from mandrel-bent aluminum featuring a durable blue powder coated finish. This air intake system was developed to accommodate the engine’s factory emissions control devices including the mass airflow sensor and engine breather hoses. Included in this kit is a high-flow AEM charge pipe to boost turbo gains.
The tapered cylinder shaped AEM Dryflow air filter is made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed (depending on driving conditions). Some AEM air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards, while others are 50 state legal. Air enters the system through an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance.
