Lid on or lid off, the AirGate™ can evolve on a whim, giving you two distinct experiences from a single, precision-crafted system.
Two Modes, One Intake
Want to hear more turbo induction sounds from within the cabin? Go topless and unleash the full character of your turbocharger. Prefer to keep it stealthy? Simply bolt the AirGate™ lid in place for a more subdued presence under the hood. This lid-on, lid-off flexibility is the heart of the AirGate™ Edition, and it means the intake adapts to your mood, your drive, and your setup without tools-intensive changes.
Constructed of genuine 2×2 carbon fiber, the AirGate™ Carbon Intake pairs a purposeful aesthetic with functional engineering. It maintains appropriate water draining provisions while utilizing factory mounting points and integrating seamlessly with the factory ram air inlet, so the airbox works with your vehicle’s existing airflow path rather than fighting it.
The AWE S-FLO Filter
Every system includes the AWE S-FLO Filter, a cotton filter finished in a bold Neon Yellow. Designed for easy service and maximum airflow, the S-FLO sits in the direct path of ram air from the front inlet. That increased airflow helped unlock maximum gains of 9 hp and 9 lb-ft of torque out of the Golf R when paired with stage 2 software.
