Description

The Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can Kit (MMBCC-BRZ-13PBE) is a purpose-built oil catch can system engineered specifically for the FA20 boxer engine found in the Subaru BRZ, Toyota 86, and Scion FR-S. Unlike a generic catch can, this kit was developed after Mishimoto engineers logged thousands of test miles on a Subaru BRZ to pinpoint the single best placement for oil separation, routing the can into the vacuum-assisted PCV system rather than the crankcase vent line at the front of the engine. The result is a single-can setup that captures far more oil than a can mounted on the crankcase vent side, keeping harmful blow-by vapors from re-entering the intake.

Every car engine produces blow-by gases as a byproduct of automobile combustion, and the FA20’s direct-injection design, which also uses port fuel injectors, already helps limit carbon buildup on the intake valves. Still, enough oil vapor works its way through the PCV system that owners focused on the long-term health of their car engine parts will benefit from filtering it out before it recirculates. By separating oil from crankcase vapors with an internal baffle and bronze filter before the vapors reach the intake manifold, this catch can helps maintain proper octane levels and reduce the risk of detonation, protecting the components of an automobile engine that matter most for performance and reliability.

Vehicle Applications

This Mishimoto catch can kit is a direct fit for the Subaru BRZ across Base, Limited, and Sport-tech trims from 2013 to 2020, the Premium trim from 2013 to 2019, the Sport-tech RS from 2018 to 2020, and the TS trim for 2018 and 2020. The can is a Mishimoto 2-Port Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can made from 6061-T6 billet aluminum with an anodized finish and a twist-off design for easy servicing.

Does the kit include mounting hardware and hoses?

Yes, the kit includes a direct-fit mounting bracket that works with left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive cars, plus two direct-fit hoses sized for the 10mm PCV valve and 12mm intake manifold port, along with CNC-machined aluminum inlet and outlet barb fittings.

Is the catch can serviceable?

Yes, the can features a twist-off design with an included drain plug, and both the filter and can are fully serviceable.

Does this kit come with a warranty?
