The Mishimoto MMAI-WRX-15BP is a performance air intake built specifically for the 2015+ Subaru WRX, anchored by a wire-reinforced lower induction hose that will not collapse under suction and boost. On the dyno it produced maximum gains of up to 33 whp and 30 wtq, with peak gains of up to 28 whp and 21 wtq, all while maintaining safe AFRs on the stock tune. This is not a generic cold air intake — it is a purpose-engineered air intake system with an aggressive induction tone and amplified turbocharger spool and BPV sounds under acceleration and boost.
As a cold air intake, this kit replaces the restrictive stock intake tract with free-flowing aluminum piping while retaining the stock intake duct to continue feeding cool, outside air to the intake filter. At the heart of the air intake filter setup is a high-flow, oiled Mishimoto air intake filter (part number MMAF-3006) offering increased filtration surface area versus the stock paper filter; because it is an oiled cotton intake filter rather than a disposable air intake filter, it can be cleaned and re-oiled for a lifetime of service, with cleaning recommended every 10,000–15,000 miles under normal driving (more often in dusty or off-road conditions).
