Unlike a conventional cold air intake filter setup that relies on an aluminum arm, this system uses a steel wire reinforced silicone intake arm that improves airflow while keeping intake air temperatures under control. The black-powdercoated steel airbox shields the included Mishimoto high-flow oiled air filter from engine bay heat and, thanks to its placement closer to the hood, eliminates the possibility of hydrolock. It even makes use of the stock air diverter found under the hood to continue directing airflow the way the factory air intake system was designed to. The aluminum intake pipe’s CNC-machined, venturi-style MAF housing inlet brings in noticeably smoother airflow than a conventional MAF housing design, and on the stock tune this air intake system is dyno-proven to add up to 4 whp and 4 wtq while running roughly 37-percent less restrictive than the stock intake.
