Mishimoto Performance Heat Exchanger for 2021+ BMW G8X M2/M3/M4

Mishimoto’s aluminum performance heat exchanger boosts cooling for 2021+ BMW G8X M2/M3/M4 with 23% more core volume, dual-pass design, and lifetime warranty.

Description

The Mishimoto Performance Heat Exchanger (MMHE-G80-21AT) is purpose-built for the 2021+ BMW G8X platform, replacing the factory air-to-water intercooler heat exchanger with an all-aluminum unit that eliminates plastic components entirely. Every end tank, core, and CNC-machined port is TIG-welded together, and strutted tubes are built into the core to resist bowing and flexing under aggressive cornering — a level of durability the stock unit simply wasn’t designed for.

This Mishimoto cooling upgrade was engineered from scratch to push more heat out of your charge air. Compared to the factory piece, core volume is increased by 23 percent and external fin surface area is expanded by 44 percent, while a dual-pass flow configuration paired with a louvered fin design drives a meaningful jump in cooling capacity over stock. CNC-machined inlet and outlet ports help ensure a leak-free connection, and the unit bolts in alongside all other factory components for a clean, seamless installation on both automatic and manual transmission cars. Removable steel rock guards are included to shield the heat exchanger from road debris, protecting against punctured tubes or crushed fins.

Vehicle Applications

This heat exchanger is engineered for BMW’s S58B30 twin-turbo inline-six as installed in the G80, G82, G83, and G87 chassis. Coverage includes the BMW M2 Base (2023–2026), M2 Coupe (2023–2024, 2026), and M2 CS (2026); the M3 Base (2021–2024, 2026), M3 Competition (2021–2026), M3 Competition xDrive (2022–2026), and M3 CS (2024); and the M4 Base (2021–2026), M4 Competition (2021–2023, 2025–2026), M4 Competition Heritage (2023), M4 Competition xDrive (2022–2026), M4 CS (2025–2026), and M4 CSL (2023). Installation requires removal of the passenger-side stock rock guard tab, as detailed in step 11 of the Mishimoto installation guide.
