The Mishimoto Subaru WRX/STI Performance Air Intake (MMAI-STI-08WRD) is a purpose-built cold air intake system engineered specifically for the 2008+ WRX and STI, finished here in Mishimoto’s Wrinkle-Red powder-coat. This mandrel-bent aluminum intake pipe replaces the restrictive factory airbox and is dyno-proven to add 25 hp and 25 tq at 5300 rpm over the OEM intake while maintaining safe air/fuel ratios. Every kit is designed in Delaware, USA, with the filter also made in the USA.
This air intake system eliminates factory restrictions and improves airflow through a mandrel-bent aluminum intake pipe fitted with a Mishimoto air straightener and a CNC-machined mass airflow sensor (MAF) housing, delivering accurate, consistent MAF readings and a smoother power band. As a true cold-air intake, the free-flowing air filter is positioned outside the hot engine bay and shielded by a powder-coated heat shield to reduce intake air temperatures (IATs) and prevent heat soak. The included Mishimoto oiled cotton air filter offers 16-percent greater surface area than stock for optimal airflow and reliable filtration, and it’s fully serviceable for a lifetime of reuse. This bolt-on cold air intake filter kit works with the factory tune, installs in under an hour, and also delivers a noticeably more aggressive, rich intake tone compared to the factory air intake.
