This cat-back exhaust system delivers a deep, unfiltered rumble both in and out of the cabin at all speeds — including highway cruising — making it one of the most aggressive performance exhaust options AWE offers for the platform. It retains all of the precision engineering of the Touring Edition, including the bespoke resonator in the mid-pipe, but deletes AWE’s drone-canceling 180 Technology® resonator so the GTI can truly get rowdy.
Sound, Materials & Build
Every car exhaust component in this kit is crafted from T304L stainless steel and finished with made-in-the-USA construction. As a cat-back exhaust system, it runs 3″ tubing from the cat back through a valveless layout — no valves and no 180 Technology here, just raw, honest tone. Because the Track Edition is known to get loud, it cannot be returned due to sound preference. If you later decide it’s a bit much, AWE makes it easy: bolt on the Touring Edition Conversion Kit and tone it down a notch.
Tips & Finish
The Track Edition finishes off with dual 5″ slash-cut tips in a Diamond Black finish, each stamped with the AWE logo so everyone knows what team you’re on. All tips are individually adjustable, letting you set the depth into the bumper according to personal taste, and they’re double-walled to hold a mirror finish even under hard usage.
