The Mishimoto Performance Air-to-Water Intercooler (MMINT-F80-15) is purpose-built for the S55-powered BMW F8X chassis, replacing the factory unit with a redesigned core and cast aluminum end tanks engineered to handle increased boost. This is a direct-fit forced induction upgrade for the F80 M3, F82/F83 M4, and F87 M2 Competition, not a generic, one-size-fits-all intercooler.
As a dedicated forced induction component, this intercooler is engineered to move charged air more efficiently through the induction system than the factory piece. Mishimoto expanded the core in every dimension for a 29% increase in core volume, added a unique single-pass internal fin layout for the coolant passage, and fitted cast aluminum end tanks with internal air diverters on both the inlet and outlet to keep flow even across the core.
